It matters to have someone you can count on.

Hi, I’m Alison. As a trusted and knowledgeable professional, licensed with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, I'll provide a safe and supportive environment where we'll explore what's working and what isn't in your life. We'll connect the dots of the past to help you take better care of you in the present. Healing and growing at your own pace, you'll move beyond the stuck places, armed with an updated toolbox for life and living. Together we'll build a trusted partnership you can count on for years to come as you navigate all of life's ups and downs.
I can't wait to meet you!

Why I'm a Therapist

I've always been interested in people, loved their stories and somehow always understood everyone would have one. Curious in nature, I enjoy asking questions about the twists and turns people's lives have taken, but always appreciated and respected the remarkable resilience folks have shown for the adversities they have had to navigate along the way. I believe wholeheartedly in the human capacity for growth and for three decades have born witness to the change that is possible when we dare to talk out loud about how things really are or were, not settle for relationships or jobs that aren't healthy for us, tackle self-destructive habits and bravely take the baby steps that eventually lead to new things. For when we begin to take these risks, we create new possibilities not only for ourselves but also for those around us.

My Approach

Grounded in decades of professional knowledge and experience, my approach is best described as eclectic, blending a range of therapeutic styles and methods to suit each clients needs. Given that I have provided care in a variety of complex care settings including inpatient psychiatry, a psychiatric hospital, eating disorder and addiction programs, I am comfortable with complicated. Within those settings I have provided individual, group, couple and family therapy often as a member of a multidisciplinary professional team. Perhaps because of this range of experience clients describe my therapeutic style as calm, compassionate and caring, which goes a long way to creating a safe environment for the work we need to do. Of course change takes time, so I'm a therapist who takes the long view. I understand that we're not fixing things in a few sessions. I'll follow your pacing as we navigate things past and present to help you work towards the steady and stable future you've longed for, even envisioned.
